We’re taking on a 19km hike from Fort Madliena to Fomm ir-Riħ. We shall be crossing the island east to west along the historic Victoria Lines.

Expect rough terrain, valleys, climbs, and incredible views - the perfect challenge for adventure lovers! 👣

What you can expect:

Traverse the width of Malta

The Victoria Lines stretch across northern Malta, tracing a natural fault line and passing by historic British fortifications. This scenic trail offers amazing views, quiet paths, and a unique blend of nature and history.

Trail Overview

Covering around 19km with around 400 m elevation gain, the hike takes 4-5 hours. It passes by forts, valleys, and villages — perfect for active hikers who enjoy cultural landmarks and scenic views.

Come prepared!

Terrain varies from rocky valleys to exposed ridgelines. Wear hiking or trail shoes and bring some water and snacks. This is a very rewarding walk across Malta’s countryside.

Kindly note that there are no shops on the route, so it's important to come prepared!
