Extra Notes concerning Basecamp Summer Academy

Endure Fitness will be used as the main place for holding Basecamp Summer Academy. The main audience of this summer school will be 10-15-year-olds, who are treated as vulnerable persons. Hence, the following points are considered as an addition to all previous points.

  • The area of the premises used by Basecamp Summer Academy is available solely to the summer school during its operating hours.

  • Members will be attended to at all times by an entrusted staff member.

  • Any chemicals and cleaning materials on the premises are stored appropriately.

  • Responsibilities of Basecamp members and staff can be read in the ‘Responsibilities’ section above. ‘Staff’ includes any person giving instruction or entrusted with the care of Basecamp members.

  • At least one First Aider and a fully equipped First Aid Kit will be present in every activity.

  • Activities concerning food will be supervised by staff qualified in Food Handling.

  • Members are not allowed to leave Basecamp activities without prior permission from Ryan or Michela.

  • During operating hours, all external doors are kept closed, except fire exits, which should have an easy opening. Staff monitor the entrances and exits to the premises.

  • All visitors to summer school must be vetted by Michela or Ryan. Visitors will never be left alone with the members.

  • All Summer School staff will be provided with on-site health and safety instructions.

  • Every activity will include a risk assessment to ensure it is a safe and secure activity. Appropriate action will be taken to deal with any hazards or risks identified. External activity providers will also be required to provide a suitable and sufficient risk assessment.

  • The premises are compliant with all health and safety regulations for vulnerable persons.
