Wied Babu Wild Swim (+ Lapsi) Hike!

Join the ENDURE 🥾Wied BABU Wild Swim Hike 🥾

A 10km (-ish!) hike, taking in some amazing scenery, technical terrain and untouched views. As part of this hike, we will be going down into the wilderness of Lapsi, looping back past Malta's famous Megalithic Temples (Mnajdra and Ħagar Qim), and then heading down into Wied Babu for a Wild Swim in crystal seas!

This adventure is perfect for those seeking stunning views and a taste of the great outdoors.

Highlights of the Hike

• 🏔️Starting from Wied iż-Żurrieq, a charming fishing village in the East of Malta, we head immediately off the beaten track towards the direction of Għar Lapsi, another well-loved Maltese go-to.

• 🏝️Along the way, we will get unmatched views of Filfa, our sister island, along with cliffs and secret water inlets.

• 🛕After a short break at Għar Lapsi, we head up a very steep slope, and start looping back, passing by Mnajdra and Ħagar Qim.

• 🏊We then head to the access point of Wied Babu, a beautiful valley, famous for rock climbing. There, we scramble our way down to the sea for a quick dip in untouched waters!

• 🍽️A short break there, then we head back to Wied iż-Żurrieq, with a possibility to enjoy a lovely lunch there.
  

What to Bring

• Comfortable and grippy hiking shoes

• Water and snacks - possibility to buy at Wied iż-Żurrieq and Għar Lapsi.

• Sun and Weather protection (hat, sunscreen)

• All belongings are to be packed in a backpack - keep your hands free as you will need them!

Level of Difficulty

• In typical ENDURE Fitness fashion, the hike will pass over some technical terrain, cliff edges, and will also involve some light scrambling.

• We would classify this hike as an intermediate-advanced hike.

• The routes we are passing over are well-trodden, but do require sure-footedness and a craving for adventure.

• The hike is best enjoyed by those who already have a basic level of hiking awareness and who want to experience new areas in our islands!

• Adventurous kids are welcome to join, as long as they appreciate some light scrambling and cliff edges!

• The hike will be led by an adequate number of experienced hiking leaders who are First Aid qualified.

Price:

• €10 per Adult.

• Kids up to the age of 15 can join for FREE! (Please do take into account the nature of the terrain...)

• Time: 07:30 to around midday.
